HELENE SHALOTSKY was born in Brooklyn, New York and moved to Queens when she was 11. She graduated Cum Laude from Queens College in 1961 with a B.A. in Education. She enjoyed teaching in NYC for four years, before moving to Morrisville, PA. with her husband Charles and newborn baby, Robi.

Twelve years and two more daughters [Ramy and Lori] later,
she returned to teaching, this time in Madison, New Jersey
where she happily taught for 26 years. While on this wonderful
teaching journey, she collected a New Jersey Governor’s Award for Teaching and two Masters’ Degrees plus being chosen for two Honor Societies: Kappa Delta Pi and Kappa Gamma Pi.

After retiring from teaching public school, she taught college English for six years.
Now properly retired, she enjoys life with her wonderful husband of many decades, writes a monthly blog, enjoys old and new friendships, and just adores her daughters, her sons-in-law, and her eight grandchildren.
